Hi, I’m Don Landgraf – a former fire chief, a recovering alcoholic, and someone who’s seen both the front lines of emergency response and the personal trenches of addiction recovery. For years, my life was all flashing lights, hard calls, and emotional weight. But it was my own battle with alcoholism that truly reshaped my path.

In 2015, I co-founded Station House Retreat in Boynton Beach, Florida. It was more than just a recovery center – it was a mission. Alongside grief counselor and fellow first responder Peggy Sweeney, we created a safe haven for firefighters, paramedics, and police officers struggling with addiction and trauma.

Nestled on two peaceful acres, Station House became a place where those who served others could finally find healing for themselves. We focused on peer understanding, after-care support, and holistic recovery – because I knew firsthand that true healing takes a community that gets it.

From Firefighting to First-Hand Reviews: The 2025 Shift

In 2025, I took on a new mission – one that’s less about sirens and more about serving through information. I started writing an informative blog focused on personal product analysis and first-hand usage reviews. The goal? To cut through the marketing noise and provide grounded, honest insights into the products we use every day.

My reviews aren’t just tech specs or star ratings – they’re based on real-life use, from someone who values practicality, durability, and authenticity. Whether it’s wellness gear, household essentials, recovery-related items, or anything designed to make life a little easier, I test it, live with it, and report back – plain and simple.
